Morning arrival in Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv. Meet and assist by a local guide. Move on to Caesarea, which was built by Herod the Great, to catch sight of the Aqueducts and the Roman Theater. Enroute to Mt. Carmel to visit Stella Maris Church and pass by Haifa where one can enjoy a panoramic view of the Bahai Gardens. Transfer to hotel in Nazareth for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 15 TIBERIAS / CAPERNAUM / TABGHA
Breakfast at the hotel. Have a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Drive to Capernaum, the town where Jesus made His home after leaving Nazareth. View the remains of the ancient Synagogue in which He taught, and on to Tabgha, where the Miracle of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes took place. Drive to Mount of Beatitudes; this is the site of the Sermon on the Mount and St. Peter’s Primacy Church. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
NOV 16 NAZARETH / CANA / MT. TABOR
After breakfast at the hotel, Nazareth to visit the Basilica of Annunciation where the Archangel Gabriel announced to Virgin Mary the birth of Jesus Christ. Visit also St. Joseph’s workshop and Home of the Holy Family. Then proceed to Cana, where Jesus performed His first miracle. He turned the water into wine at the Wedding in Cana. (Those who wish may renew their wedding vows at the Church). We will go up to Mt. Tabor to see Basilica of Transfiguration. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
NOV 17 JERUSALEM / EIN KAREM / BETHLEHEM
Breakfast at the hotel. Start the full day tour at the Pool of Bethesda and Church of St. Anne. Then proceed to Via Dolorosa starting at Ecce Homo where Pontius Pilate washed his hands. Walk all the way to the Flagellation until you reach the Church of the Holy Sepulchre where Jesus was crucified, died and rose from the dead. Drive to Ein Karem to visit St. John the Baptist Church and Church of Visitation (Magnificat) where the Blessed Virgin Mary visited Elizabeth. Afterwards, drive back to Bethlehem to visit the Shepherd Field, the site where the star appeared to the shepherds which lead them to the manger where baby Jesus was born. Proceed to Milk Grotto. Visit also the Basilica and Grotto of the Nativity and the Church of Nativity, the traditional birthplace of Jesus, and the Manger Square. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
NOV 18 JERUSALEM / JERICHO / QUMRAN / DEAD SEA
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Qasr Al Yahud or the Baptismal site via Jordan Valley to renew your baptismal vow. Visit to the Dead Sea and Qumran, the caves of the Essenes where Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a wandering shepherd boy. Drive to Jericho to view the Mount of Temptation where Jesus Christ spent 40 days fasting and where he was tempted by the devil. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
NOV 19 JERUSALEM
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the Mount of Olives to visit the Ascension Chapel where Jesus ascended into Heaven. Visit the Church of Pater Noster to see the “Lord’s Prayer” written in several languages. Proceed to the Church of Dominus Flevit (God Wept) where God wept over Jerusalem. Move on and continue by walking down the Palm Sunday road to the Church of All Nations and the Garden of Gethsemane to see the Rock of Agony, the place where Jesus prayed before the Roman soldiers came for Him. Visit the Mount Zion area to see the Dormition Abbey. Then visit the Upper Room where Jesus and his disciples had their last supper. See also King David’s tomb. Proceed to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. Then continue to the Wailing Wall. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.
NOV 20 TEL AVIV / ISTANBUL
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Drive to Tel Aviv. Lunch will be on your own account. Transfer to Tel Aviv Airport to catch flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, have dinner at a local restaurant. Transfer to hotel for check-in and overnight.
NOV 21 ISTANBUL
After breakfast at the hotel, we will have a full day tour which includes visit to Hippodrome, the sportive and political center of the Old City. Blue Mosque, facing St. Sophia, famous with its blue Iznik tiles and unique with 6 minarets, built in the name of Sultan Ahmet. We continue on to St. Sophia museum, which is one of the great architectural marvels of the ancient world. We then visit Topkapi Palace, seat of the Ottoman Empire for four centuries, and visit treasury section. Then we will continue to roam around the exciting Grand bazaar, a maze of over 4000 tiny shops selling gold, jewelry, leatherwork and fine carpets. Have dinner at a local restaurant. Return to hotel for overnight.
NOV 22 ISTANBUL / TROY
After breakfast and check-out, we will visit a Turkish Delights shop before we proceed to Troy – the legendary town in the “Iliad” of Homer where we can see the replica of the wooden horse. Transfer to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 23 TROY / IZMIR / KUSADASI
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. We will drive to Izmir to visit the Church of St. Policarp, the oldest church in Izmir and represents ancient Smyrna’s role as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Then we continue to drive north to the hauntingly beautiful Asklepion, one of the most important healing centers of the Roman world. It had baths, temples, a theatre, library, treatment centers and latrines. Remains of these structures have been preserved similar to how it appeared in the time of Emperor Hadrian. Transfer to Kusadasi for check-in, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
NOV 24 KUSADASI / EPHESUS / PAMUKKALE
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. We will have a short stop at Outlet Leather Factory & Center. Then we travel to Selcuk for a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary on top of Mt. Coressos. It is believed that she spent years in this area. On August 18, 1961, Pope John XXII proclaimed this place as sacred. We continue our visit in Ephesus, the once thriving port town of 250,000 people. Today, you can still see the spectacular excavations of the major streets in this ancient city including the view of the Library of Celcius, Agora, Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan, the Theatre, colorful mosaics. You can also see the panoramic view of the surrounding ancient port area including a wealth of church history and cultural insight. Transfer to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 25 PAMUKKALE / KONYA / CAPPADOCIA
After an early breakfast and check-out at the hotel, we visit Hierapolis or “Sacred City”, an ancient center for pagan cults until it was transformed into a Christian center in the first century. According to tradition, the Apostle Philip lived and was martyred in Hierapolis. Last stop at Textile Shopping then drive to Cappadocia. Transfer to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 26 CAPPADOCIA
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will visit the Love Valley, a hidden valley with scenic formations. The amazing rock formations are far from man-made despite the resemblance to manhood. They are ancient structures that stands over a thousand meters altitude. After you will visit the Pasabaglari or the Monk Valley. The valley got its name because Cappadocia had become a thriving monastic community in the 4th century. A chapel dedicated to St. Simeon was carved in one of the three-headed fairy chimneys in the 5thn century. Then we will drive to Avanos, a town famous with potteries from Hittites period. After lunch, we drive to Devrent Valley also known as the Imagination Valley, is famous for its red color lunar landscape with the best formed and most thickly clustered different rock formations. We will then proceed to Goreme Open Air Museum, to visit the rock carved churches hollowed out of volcanic ash. Return to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 27 CAPPADOCIA / BOLU
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. Today we will have a magnificent view of the Uchisar Castle, the highest point in the region with a strange appearance, stark interior and amazing panoramic landscape view. Pass by a Jewelry Workshop and Center then proceed visit to Salt Lake on the way to the capital of Turkey, Ankara. After lunch, visit the Ataturk Mausoleum – symbol of the new Ankara. The mausoleum is notable example of modern Turkish architecture. The complex comprises a Path of Honor flanked by reclining Hittite lions, a Court of Honor, the Ataturk Mausoleum itself and a museum. Transfer to hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
NOV 28 BOLU / ISTANBUL
Breakfast and check-out at the hotel. We will start visit to Camlica Hill, the highest point in Istanbul offering incredible views of Bosphorus, including the two bridge that connects Asia with Europe. Then visit Pierre Loti Hill, named after the well-known French novelist Pierre Loti. It is also home to a famous café which offers perfect view of the Golden Horn, a horn-shaped fjord on the European side of Istanbul and is fed by two small streams. After dinner, we will transfer to Istanbul airport to catch flight back to Manila.
